The crisis rocking the leadership of the main opposition party in Delta state, the All Progressives Congress APC will soon become history after Youths from the various warring camps met and decided to ensure that peace returns to the party.
The Youths who rallied round themselves under the auspices of "APC Youths for Peace" met on sunday in Ughelli where they unanimously agreed that they are now ready to close ranks and work for the return of peace in the party to enable it prepare ahead and win all future elections in the state.
During the meeting which lasted several hours afforded the peace seeking group to critically look into the Genesis and the root cause of the almost two years crisis which has bedeviled the party and vowed to do all within their powers to ensure that peace and unity returns to the party.
They resolved to meet and engage the leaders of both camps that had been at loggerhead in the persons of Olorogun Otega Emerhor and Chief Engr. Hyacinth Enuha with a view to pleading with them to bury their differences in the general interest of the party and the youths.
To also ensure that the peace process is not breached mid way, a sanction was collectively placed on all to desist from making or publishing any inciting statements especially the youths and aides of the party leaders from both camps. They further agreed to work assiduously by engaging and ensuring that the Youth wing of the party is strentened and will henceforth speak in one voice on all party issues without any sentimental attachment to any of the warring camps.
The peace seeking youths resolved to present two (2) major proposals to both leaders for consideration with the believe that the acceptance, adoption and implementation of any of the two (2) proposals will bring the crisis to its immediate end.
During the session which is their inaugural meeting saw nineteen (19) of the twenty three (23) youths nominated from the 3 senatorial zones in the state in attendance.
The meeting was jointly chaired by Elvis Ayomanor and Amb. Young Peiro and Nnamdi O. Ofonye emerged as the Secretary of the group while Austin Kpedi emerged as assistant secretary.
