OSANEBI MEETS WITH CONSTITUENTS, EMPOWERS MORE WOMEN.
-Facilitates N2B shore protection for Onyah,
-saves a dying child.
The generality of the good people of Ndokwa East Constituency (2/9/16) in Aboh, head quarters of the constituency gathered in their colors and numbers to interact, synchronize ideas with the Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi and to get updated version of his people friendly representation report card, over the past one year.
The elderly, the youths, women, political cum opinion leaders and all important stakeholder in the local government area gathered with high expectation with enthusiasm in Ogbe-Ukwu Hall, to once again have an encounter with their friend, brother, son and leader- the "Empowerment Master".
Osanebi who was eager to start hearing from the people as they ask him questions, interrupted the program and protocol of the event, stood up and started addressing his people, so that they can in turn address him on time.
The Deputy Speaker told the gathering that by the grace of God, the state government is living to its expectation even with the prevailing economic crunch and as a representative through the intermediacy of the Governor of Delta State, Sen. Ifeany Okowa, can meet with his people face to face and point out projects and programs he has facilitated to the area.
He said: "Gov Okowa has made the creation of jobs a top priority. We can attest to this through his deep commitment and unshakable resolve to improve lives and ensure prosperity for all Deltans, through the STEP, PPSP, YAGEP, the Micro-credit scheme for small and medium enterprises, and other Job creation programmes.
As at April 30, 2016, a total of 17,173 (seventeen thousand, one hundred and seventy three) private sector jobs were created by the Okowa-led government. This figure consists of 6,800 (six thousand, eight hundred) direct jobs and 10,373 (ten thousand, three hundred and seventy three) indirect jobs of both skilled and unskilled workers.
�As a Special Purpose Vehicle, the Office of the Chief Job Creation Officer accounted for 7,522 (seven thousand, five hundred and twenty two) of these jobs while the remaining 9,651 (nine thousand, six hundred and fifty one) were created through projects, programmes and initiatives implemented through the various MDA.
He is presently rehabilitating all Technical Colleges in the state, and road constructions across the state also going on simultaneously, including our own Beneku Road and others in other part of the Ndokwa Nation"
"He has rebuilt at least one primary School in each local government area of the state", he added.
Osanebi further revealed that within the year under review, he has been abled by grace to give out N18.9 million Naira Empowerment to market women to boost small and medium scale enterprises. He has Constructed 6 classroom blocks each in Ibrede primary school, Ibrede; Iselegu Primary School, Iselegu. Employment of over 50 youths in the oil and gas sector. Employment of over 20 men and women into the public service ( political appointments and other related engagements ). Another 6 classroom blocks in Umueze Primary School, Ossissa and Niger Primary School, Asaba-Ase.
He has also Trained and Empowered 25 youths in conjunction with AGIP, through skill acquisition with starter packs to be agents of empowerment in their localities too.
He has Constructed six classroom blocks in Mixed Secondary School, Okpai-Oluchi, another 6 classroom blocks in Aboh Grammar School, Aboh and has also given
Ten Million Naira, Scholarships to Anioma indigent Students in tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
Because of his passion for the actualization of the state government's prosperity agenda, he has further contributed Ten million Naira to the Job Creation officer of the state to empower more youths through Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP) and Youth Agricultural Entrepreneurs Programme (YAGEP).
Expressing his willingness to partner with bodies and agents of government to better the lots of his people, the Deputy Speaker also revealed that he has facilitated major projects into the 2016 budgets of the Niger Delta Development Commission ( NDDC) and Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC).
He also announced with joy that approval has been granted for the Two Billion Naira ( N2B) Onyah shore protection project, which he has facilitated through the NDDC. He noted that it was a tasking experience and thanked Senator Peter Nwaboshi for his support.
In the course of the meeting, the Deputy Speaker, appealed to his constituents to tell him the truth about situations of things around them and that they shouldn't garnish what ever they tell him as they interacted in a session of questions and answers.
Osanebi received all questions and suggestions presented to him with smiles and open heart and gave answers to the satisfaction of the people reassuring them that he would continue to do his best to ensure that the people remain happy. He gave constituents that asked objective, people related questions without fear or favour cash gifts.
Moved with passion, he immediately ordered that a child of about two weeks old that has cleft palate and other related health challenges be taking to the hospital for immediate surgery/attention in order to save the life of the helpless child. He immediately on the spot gave the parents the sum of three hundred thousand naira as they demanded. It was a robust session yesterday that witness series of events and activities all to the betterment of the people and the constituency in general.
In fulfillment of his vow to always empower women where ever he meets them, the empowerment master, also empowered twenty five (25) women that has satisfied businesses and needed more funds.
Some of the lucky women that got varying amount of funds from the Deputy Speaker were: Mrs. Matilda Prosper - Onyemgba who is a caterer and needed an oven and other business materials. She was given a hundred and fifty thousand Naira to get an oven and other items she needed. Also Mrs Keinegede Pauline Nkeoye a trader in Ibedeni who deals on garry, went home with a hundred thousand Naira, courtesy of the empowerment master; to give life to her business. Mrs Ejomerwuna Glory is a known fish seller in Asafo, she also smiled home with a hundred and fifty thousand Naira to boost her business and affect the Asafo people positively. All together a total of about three Million, five hundred thousand Naira was given to the people yesterday to boost small and medium scale enterprises and in line with Governor Ifenayi Okowa's prosperity agenda for all Deltans.
When it became glaring in the hall yesterday that the Empowerment Master wasn't giving out money to pre-arranged individuals, some leaders started fuming saying that the Deputy Speaker has not empowered people from their community. Osanebi quickly responded that he wasn't empowering people based on community or affiliation to any leader, but he is been led to give money, from his own proper good to those that really needs it.
He also announced that very shortly, major empowerment scheme for youths and fathers/elders would be unveiled.
At the end of the town hall meeting, leaders and various speakers praised the kind gestures of the Deputy Speaker, thanked him and prayed for him. Some of the people that spoke yesterday were Rt. Hon. Olisah Imegwu, Hon. Chika Ossai- member of the state executive council and commissioner, bureau for special duties, former council chairman - Chief Tony Uti, Cheif, Mrs. Mary Chidi and the local government PDP chairman, chief Ugo Asibelua.
