The Olu Pronouncement On INYC Is Final

THE OLU PRONOUNCEMENT ON INYC IS FINAL.

By: Comr. Aderojor James

The attention of the MOVEMENT FOR THE PROTECTION OF IWERE HOMELAND, DEVELOPMENT AND HISTORY (MPIHDH) has been drawn to a rebellious, inciting and provocative publication signed by the duo of Mr David Tonwe and Mr Isaac on the Vanguard of Thursday 18th August, 2016 which is capable of breaching the relative peace enjoyed presently in Warri Kingdom.

The purported meeting held on the said secretariat at NO 6 Odion road which happen to be an empty space used for mechanic workshop and a car wash center can not be said to be a befitting SECRETARIAT for the INYC body.

According to the publication, the defunct INYC executives have finally dissolved their over nine year executive body and have resolved to conduct an election and swear in new executive members. This is coming almost two weeks after they submitted a list of intending executives to His Majesty Ogiame Ikenwoli the Olu of Warri to constitute without even taken all sections of Itsekiri youths into consideration while collating such list.

The purported meeting which centered around the STEWARDSHIP of the management of the POST AMNESTY program, given the period of January 2013-July 2016 should not be the mainstay of the INYC body owing to the fact that the acclaimed out going president has been in office since 2007.

According to the publication, one of the criteria given for one  to hold a ''key position''  is that such person must be a graduate and of proven integrity. From facts available to us, not all the executive members of the defunct INYC body are graduates nor can be said to be of proven integrity.

That the INYC is not a political tool for politicians to toss around according to the publication  is highly laughable as its key executive members were seen to have used the body for their political gimmicks both in past and recent political affairs in the kingdom.

Surprisingly, the signatories to the publication claimed that though the body is not a creation of the crown, yet it a subject of the crown. For the information of the general public, the crown does not directly create any association nor pressure groups but has the sole authority over every groups in the kingdom since all is subject to the crown as correctly affirmed by those behind the publication.

It is a slap on the generality of the Itsekiri youths that the supposedly outgoing president could tied all the activities of  the INYC body to just a mere amnesty program.

If we are to critically analyse those deployed for the various program as put forward by the signatories to the publication, can we say with all honesty that they have truly served the Itsekiri youths well in an instance where 19 persons were enlisted for Phd program and only 8 were deployed?  How are we certain that even the 8 persons are all of Itsekiri extraction? This is not to mention the Msc and other programs so enlisted.

We thought in their own wisdom, that they would have come out with a comprehensive breakdown of how much was so far deducted over the years/how the said sum was expended but  not the caricature form of reportage if we are to talk about transparency.

It is a show of shame to read that the only mandate given to the incoming executive committee by the defunct INYC  executives is to follow up on the beneficiaries of the amnesty program and to also ensure that all necessary ''deductions'' are fully extracted from the stipends  accruable to the beneficiaries.

This is a clarion call to all youths to shun these men and their vices and work with the Esimaje Awani led executives approved by Ogiame to take Warri kingdom forward.
